Syväpainografiikan työvaiheita / The Process of Making Etchings

Kuparilaatta syövytetään rautakloridilla. / Copper plates are etched with ferrochlorid.

Pohjustettu ja syövytetty ja kuparilaatta pestään puhtaaksi vedostamista varten. / The founded and etched copper plate is washed clean for printing.

Painoväri levitetään painolaatan syövytettyihin kohtiin. / The plate's etched parts are tinted with printing ink.

Laatalta poistetaan liika painoväri. / The extra printing ink is removed from the plate.

Laatan pintaan voidaan levittää painoväriä telalla. Printing ink can be rolled on the surface of the plate.

 Vedostuspaperi kostutetaan ja kuivataan. / Printing paper is damped and dried.

Värjätty laatta vedostetaan kostealle paperille syväpainoprässillä. / The inked plate is printed on damp paper with an etching press.
