Sarjaan Selityksiä kuuluu 30 yksittäistä teosta, joihin voi tutustua kuvagallerian albumissa Maalauksia kankaalle sarjasta Selityksiä (2011-2014). Vuonna 2014 olen koonnut yksittäisistä maalauksista diptyykkejä, joista myös kuvan diptyykki on mukana Viipurin Taiteilijaseuran Vitas 85 -juhlanäyttelyssä Järvenpään taidemuseossa 10.10.2014-31.1.2015.

Sarjan maalausten teemat kumpuavat kuvataiteen ja kuvatyyppien historiasta. Diptyykin (VI) teema on moniulotteinen tila. Vasemman puoleinen maalaus on versio Pantokrator-ikonista, oikeanpuoleisen teos taas geometrian monitahokkaasta nimeltä ikosaedri.

The series Explanations consists of 30 paintings. See them in the Gallery album Paintings on canvas from the series Explanations (2011-2014). In 2014 I used individual paintings to make diptychs out of which also this one is exhibited at the Vyborg Artists' Society Jubilee Exhibition Vitas 85 at Järvenpää Art Museum October 10t, 2014 to January 31, 2015.

The idea of the series arise from the art history and from the iconographic picture types. The theme of the Diptych (VI) is multidimensional space. The painting on the left is a version of the Pantocrator icon, the one on the right of the geometric polyhedron called icosahedron.
