Vuoden 2025 alusta lähtien olen käynyt läpi, ja karsinut, teosvarastoani aloittaen 1980- ja 1990-lukujen teoksista paperille. Kuvan teos on syntynyt kesällä 1993 tapahtumassa, jossa maalasimme kahden muun taiteilijan kanssa monotypioita öljypohjaisin painovärein offset-pelleille silloisen Helsingin kaupungin taidemuseon viereisessä puistossa Meilahdessa. Monotypiat painettiin paikalle tuodulla katujyrällä.

Tekotapansa vuoksi teos on saanut nimensä yhdysvaltalaista II maailmansodan jälkeistä abstraktia ekspressionismia edustaneen Jackson Pollockin (1912-1956) mukaan.

EN Artwork Information

Since the beginning of 2025, I have been going through, and narrowing down, my store of artworks, starting with works on paper from the 1980s and 1990s. The artwork in the photo was created in the summer of 1993 at an event where two other artists and I painted monotypes with oil-based printing inks on offset plates in the park next to the then Helsinki City Art Museum in Meilahti. The monotypes were printed with a street roller brought to the site.

Due to the method of production, the work is named after Jackson Pollock (1912-1956), who represented American post-World War II abstract expressionism.
