Sarja perustuu italialaisen fyysikon, Carlo Rovellin, kvanttigravitaation, filosofian ja taiteen näkökulmia esittelevään kirjaan Ajan luonne, Ursan julkaisuja 160. Suom. Hannu Karttunen, 2018 [L'ordine del tempo, Adelphi Edizione, 2017].
Kuvan teos viittaa Rovellin sanoihin: "Aika-avaruus on fysikaalinen olio kuten elektroni. Sekin aaltoilee. [---] Se taipuu, venyy ja poukkoilee muiden kanssa, työntää ja vetää niitä." (ss. 76-87)
Sarjan teoksia oli esillä yksityisnäyttelyssäni Aikasarjat Nurmes-talon Galleria Tykossa kesällä 2024 ja osa niistä tulee myös yksityisnäyttelyyni Nature of Time | Maalauksia ajasta Galleria A2:een Helsinkiin 13.11.-1.12.2024. Tervetuloa näyttelyyn!
EN Artwork Information
The series is based on the Italian physicist Carlo Rovelli's book Order of Time, 2018 [L'Ordine del tempo, Adelphi Edizione, 2017] which presents perspectives of quantum gravity, philosophy and art on the nature of time.
This artwork refers to Rovelli's text about spacetime which is a physical entity like an electron and curved "because it is distorted: distances are stretched and contracted, just like the elastic sheet when it is pulled."
The works of the series were exhibited in my solo exhibition Time Series at Gallery Tyko, Nurmes House, North Karelia in summer of 2024. Some of the works will also be in my solo exhibition Nature of Time | Paintings about Time at Gallery A2, Helsinki 13.11.-1.12.2024. Welcome to the exhibition!
